The author kept me to a one-day reading of the entire book with his engaging stories, education on the types of bbq, rubs, wood, methods of cooking and on and on. His travels around the country, even if you don't like bbq, will keep you entertained, amused and informed. Mr. Fugitt should go on both the cooking channel and the travel channel and recount his favorite locations, recipes, types of foods, people he met along the way and other stories about our great country. I give it 5 stars...again, great book!

This book is an excellent resource for BBQ enthusiasts looking to discover a hidden gem in their neck of the woods or the road-tripper who won't settle for a truck stop buffet. Considering myself a Texas BBQ purist, Johnny Fuggitt inspired me to broaden my horizon and give other BBQ masters, outside the great state of Texas, a chance.

I was lucky to get my hands on this book just before I road tripped from NYC (through DC, Nashville, and Memphis) to Fayetteville, Arkansas. Fugitt's Top BBQ Restaurants did not disappoint as they guided me home. It's an entertaining read that kept me eagerly turning the pages to see what was next. I even caught myself laughing out loud several times at the author's humor and likability as his honesty shines throughout the book. This is THE ultimate guide for the thrill seeking BBQ lover in all of us.
