8 of 9 people found the following review helpful. This is a perfect example of the phrase By justfitz This is a perfect example of the phrase, "you get what you pay for." This book reads like a collection of notes that someone who is not a native English speaker pounded out on a laptop in 2 hours without the benefit of an editor to correct spelling and grammar or to help organize it logically.The recipes have some value, and are pretty simple, as promised in the title. Some are missing measurements, or the unit of measurement (like, "1/8 fennel seeds" -- is that 1/8 teaspoon?). In the list of carbohydrate portions, there is an entry for "oats (street-cut)"... Um, I certainly hope my oats aren't "street cut"; but I have heard of "steel cut" oats. I will probably use some of the recipes for ideas, but the author would have been smart to organize them in "low carb" and "high carb" categories, or at minimum he should have stated this at the beginning of each recipe (or whether it is flexible, allowing for both). If someone is new to carb cycling, this is important information and is the kind of categorization that a reader will be looking for. In some cases, the recipe never says at all; in other cases, the final "step" of the recipe might be: "7. This is good for high carb days." That is not a cooking step; it should have been noted in the description. Some recipes say silly things like, "Lemon juice (or you may use lime juice instead, depending on what is available)." Do grocery stores in the author's area carry either lemons or limes but never both? Just say "lemon or lime juice." Odd!

A big plus with this plan is that there are cycle variations, so although you alternate high carb and low carb days, so you can still eat your favorite foods and don’t have to swear off carbs completely. The list of “allowed” foods is pretty extensive, and a good variety of recipes are provided. The baked turkey meatballs are really tasty.

Do not be food deprived, enjoy your diet journey By Tim Clerk Starting with a new diet and changing your old way of eating is a huge challenge on its own. The Carb cycling diet seems to be an very exciting and rewarding diet that does not leave you food deprived! It works on low-card and high-card days cycling between them, on the high carb days you can reward your self by eating your favorite foods. Great recipes for breakfast, lunch and dinner are all easy to follow and tasty even for the fact that it is low-carb. Personally I think with this rewarding system one will not easily fail with this diet and reach your ideal weight in no time!
