He is the gruff, occasionally profane and totally dedicated single physician in the Nuba region of Sudan, where a nasty genocidal war is being waged against the Nuban people. James Verini reveals a story not covered on the evening news in sharp clear prose. This would be a good book for a reading circle, spiritual study group or international issues students. Warning: graphic depictions of war inflicted injuries.
