Parenting Beyond Your Upbringing is an excellent book that can appeal to everyone that has children or may have children. Denise's incredibly honest account of her difficult childhood and subsequent turning-it-over to the Lord demonstrates the redemption that is available to all through a relationship with Jesus Christ. I recommend this book for seasoned and/or new Christians alike. Denise provides powerful scripture and practical strategies for becoming the kind of parent that the Lord designed you to be. The practical suggestions are related to topics such as the importance of spending quality time together as a family and the impact of good nutrition. I found this book easy to read and makes sense in its logical progression from overcoming past hurts to successes and even current struggles. The very relevant point is made that we will always have struggles of varying degrees as parents but through seeking the Lord's guidance and intervention we have the ability to experience eternal hope and joy is possible! I highly suggest you read this book because you will be blessed!

In Parenting Beyond Your Upbringing, the author brings her struggles and how she overcame to the pages in a way that is easy to understand and apply. Her words are practical and life giving! If you struggle with defeating destructive habits from your upbringing, you should read this book!
