A true story of restored hope and God’s unwavering faithfulness.

In “The Rhode to Zimkesalia” Cathy tells her story of being born in Rhode-sia and living a life that became tainted with fear, failure and loss.

Her journey of life moving through Zim-babwe, Ke-nya, S-outh A-frica and Austra-lia, (hence the name Zimkesalia) is a testimony of God's unwavering faithfulness and her faith in God who upheld her through upheaval, insecurities, guilt and pain.

Growing up in a country at war, where fear, family illness, loneliness, insecurity, death and change caused enormous grief, Cathy tells the account of her struggle through those experiences, interwoven with the faithfulness of God and her faith in Him.

It's a story of hope and restoration, of healing out of brokenness, victory over grief and how God’s amazing grace, love, peace and comfort has brought freedom to her life.

Cathy explores the inadequacies, insecurities and survival methods that many of us grow up with as a result of our life experiences.

She tells of how she survived, how she coped and how she failed throughout those difficult times and shares the lessons she learned along the way.

Cathy gives hope to others who are struggling with tough experiences and suggests tools which worked for her and which have led to her not only surviving life, but coming to a place of thriving and living to the full in a place of freedom and flourishing.

She has written from a place of vulnerability and honesty and aims to encourage and point the reader to a life of hope and joy.

Review "Cathy's ability to bring her African background to life is captivating, but there is so much more to this story than the many countries she has called 'home'. Reading this story, I am left with the overwhelming sense that regardless of where I was born or raised, home is found in the arms of the Author of Life."-- Jenny Mazey, Pastor - Hills Church, Melbourne. "Cathy writes with a vulnerability about her life, she shares not only the mountain top experiences but the deep valleys that she has walked through. I encourage you as you read Cathy's story to have an open heart to the healing power that is available to each one of us when we walk in relationship with God."-- Samantha Jackel, Author of My Purple Pants.

The Rhode to Zimkesalia - A Must Read By Amazon Customer I know Cathy Scott personally through our church and she is a strong, godly, creative, talented and fun-loving mother and wife. After reading her book, "The Rhode to Zimkesalia", I was amazed at what she had lived through! How could anyone live through such violence, grief, sadness, despair and still come out without "smelling of smoke"?As Cathy says in her book, it is only by the grace of God!This is a book about hope for anyone who is doing it tough in life or knows someone who is doing it tough. It is raw. It is real. It is a must read.I highly recommend it.

Warm and Empowering By Jenny Mazey An 'easy to read' personal story that helps the reader to find hope in their own personal journey because Cathy writes in way that you feel you are have been invited to share a cuppa at her dining room table. Her warmth and love for Jesus comes through the pages. She is able to articulate her own journey in a way that gives the reader the same sense of hope for their own personal challenges. I'm not a great lover of prose and poetry so this became a slight distraction for me but the photos made it personable and inviting to read, dispite this distraction.

By Jackie Koster A great read, flows beautifully and a story that most people will relate to. As Cathy evokes memories of her childhood and teens I found myself re-living memories long forgotten and being able to understand myself better! It's a book that encourages hope. Hope for the past, present and future - that our Amazing Heavenly Father was there, is there and will be there for each of us no matter what we go through. I recommend this book and would recommend it as a wonderful gift idea as well.
