I am sure this is the main thought for many that would like to get into the 3D printing business By Solomon Since the big hype around 3D printers started, I have been curious as to how to make money with 3D printing. I am sure this is the main thought for many that would like to get into the 3D printing business. Mr. Ito, I believe does a good job in explaining the process and outlining the various ways for one to make money with 3D printing. I definitely appreciate that he also recognizes the process that needs to be taken in order to make that money, it is not a get rich quick scheme. Thank you for the invaluable information.
6 of 6 people found the following review helpful. I really enjoyed this book By Jeffrey A. Tucker Although a fairly short read, I really enjoyed this book. As a hobbyist, I'm always reading industry news and other information on 3D printing, and this book gave me some great ideas on how to take advantage of this technology even more. Also, there are other little known facts in the book such as the "3D Print" movie/documentary on Netflix that I didn't know about until I read this book. Overall its worth the $11.00 in my opinion.

Short Read with Good Information for 3D Printing, But Not for Beginners By The Anthropologist Admittedly, I am a bit torn as to the star rating for this book. As it is, it earns a solid 3.5, but with Amazon's rating system only allowing whole numbers, I opted to round up to 4. I am new to 3D printing and makerspaces, and found this book to be a quick overview, but it definitely will not teach a person how to use a 3D printer or really where to begin. I must agree with a previous reviewer who opined that the title is not necessarily reflective of the content.To elaborate: 3D printing is actually quite an investment, both in terms of money and time. One needs to be able to learn how to use the machine, the software for the machine, the materials for the machine, and how to create items to print (usually with a combination of scanning, CAD, design, etc.). It definitely is not something that one can pick up without investing time and training. The author downplays this a bit, unfortunately, which might make the uninitiated panic once they realize how involved this technology is for now. The content leaves some to be desired, and the book could be fleshed out to resolve some of these concerns. Further, the version I have had quite a few typos throughout, so needs some editing. Admittedly, though, the book was written in such a way that makes the content accessible even tho those unfamiliar with 3D printing, so it gains points for not being littered with jargon.I am including a list of the contents in order to help future buyers:-What is 3D Printing?-Disadvantages of 3D Printing-3D Designs-Physical Items-Build 3D Printers-Share Your 3D Printer-Customization as a Service-Invest in 3D Companies-Teach 3D PrintingThe author also includes information such as: 3D printer buyer's guide, hardware guide, software guide, companies guide, stock information, monetizing various aspects of 3D printing, etc. Again, this book is more of an overview, and downplays the investment and knowledge required of 3D printing. However, the information contained is useful for those familiar with the technology and with the means necessary to employ some of the techniques outlined in the book.
