About the Author
Glynnis Walker Anderson, PhD, is the best-selling author of eight books and an investigative journalist who has been featured as a guest expert on television shows such as Oprah and Today, and in magazines like People and Cosmopolitan.
Anderson has also hosted a radio talk show for more than fifteen years, through which she sheds light on personal issues and gives voice to otherwise voiceless victims. Her own family’s tragic experience with an elder fraud scheme inspired her to write her latest book, The Stealing of Joy.
Anderson currently resides in Chicago.

What happened to Glynnis and her family was not only tragic, heart-wrenching, and incredibly eye-opening...but quite informative. "Stealing Joy" sends a wake-up call regarding what to look for and provides insights for what must change to pre-empt the chance of being caught in the web of elder fraud. I will be passing out copies to friends, co-workers, and others who might learn from this. No one should have to suffer as Glynnis and her family did, but we should all be thankful that she took the time to document this tragedy to help prevent further cases.

By Bryn Wilke Glynnis Walker perfectly describes how easily any person with a caring heart can fall victim to those who that have malicious intent. I found myself getting the "creepy crawlies" after she expresses her communications with her slimy neighbor and the lawyer. I shake my head thinking--how could this happen to someone who just clearly wants the best for her family? It is truly eye-opening. I hope that this book gets into the right hands so that it can educate others and prevent any more of these types of situations of elder abuse and fraud.

Absolutely must-read, inspiring, shocking, heartfelt and honest By Arabella Anderson An absolute must read for anyone with an aging parent or relative. No one else should have to experience the chaos that Dr. Walker and her family endured. Heartfelt, honest, and with good intentions, Dr. Walker retells her horrific story of losing her parent not only to Alzheimer's, but to elder fraud. But being a genuine human, Dr. Walker creates a positive response with this book, giving advice and morale to help sooth those who have also experienced such loss.
