Nice basic book for the Dutch oven By Doug Erlandson James Morris’s "Dutch Oven Cook Book" a number of tasty recipes that can be made in a Dutch oven. The introduction contains a brief history of Dutch ovens, what sort of Dutch oven to buy for your needs, and how to season and clean a Dutch oven.The recipes include different types of bread (including honey and oat loaf, beer bread, flat herb bread), breakfast dishes (such as sausage and tahini breakfast wraps, breakfast fruit compote), main meals (beef and zucchini lasagna, fruity coconut chicken curry, among others), soups and stews (boullabaisse, potato stew, french onion soup, etc.), and desserts (cherry brownies, peach polenta cake, etc.).Each recipe states the number served, the preparation time, and the cook time, followed by a list of ingredients (most of which are easily attainable), and instructions for putting together and baking or cooking the dish. While some pictures to go along with the recipes would have been nice, the instructions themselves are clear and the book contains a nice basic collection of recipes for the Dutch oven.

The ingredients and equipment are easy to come by By Frank Hubeny Recently I switched to a diet that would keep the pH of my body in a more alkaline state. I am not much of a cook, but I realized that to make sure I get the diet I wanted, I will have to learn to prepare the meals myself. In addition, I have a cultural problem with cookbooks. They make me think of science experiments that I will likely fail at because I lack the right equipment, ingredients or intelligence to implement correctly.Susie Kelly's book addresses all of these issues and it is now my top choice in vegan or vegetarian cookbooks.Her recipes are vegetarian, including fish and eggs, with notes on which recipes are vegan or gluten free. This helps me focus on the vegan recipes which are closer to the pH diet I want.The ingredients and equipment are easy to come by. I don't need fancy kitchen gadgets. She doesn't use them herself.The recipes are simple which lazy cooks, and inexperienced cooks like myself, need. The recipes are also easy to find in the book.Perhaps most of all, she enhances the recipes by enclosing them in entertaining stories which make them memorable. This got me thinking that recipes may be closer to favorite poems or stories that one re-tells rather than science experiments.

By FrenchVillageDiaries It was great to read something new from Susie as I’m a huge fan of her writing (especially her travel memoirs set in France) and she always makes me laugh. This book, although primarily a cookbook is no exception, as her no-nonsense guide to tasty homemade meals is interspersed with little anecdotes from her foodie recollections and contained more than one ‘snort out loud’ moment.Susie is a very well traveled lady who has lived and worked in quite a few countries, and obviously enjoyed the local food and cultures while she was there. These experiences and many years of collecting favourite recipes have given her plenty of material for this book, including memories from her early life in Africa, street food in Nairobi, tales from dinner parties, life in France and recipes from her Italian mother-in-law. Susie shares all these and more with her unique sense of humor that never failed to make me smile. As Susie and her husband are vegetarians and as the title suggests, the only thing you won’t find in this book are meat recipes, although she does admit that many of her salad, curry and sauce recipes would work well with meats too. I’m not a vegetarian, but there were so many delicious sounding recipes in this book I never found myself yearning for a meat dish while reading it.Top of my list of recipes to try are the smoked salmon quiche, as it is a very luxurious sounding recipe and the baked walnut balls as we have two huge walnut trees, so I’m always looking for interesting and different walnut recipes.I have to admit to being a little disappointed that the measurements given are only in cup sizes as I have so many different sized cups at home I never know which one to use, but give me a gram and I know where I am. Thankfully, like Susie, I’m happiest when experimenting in the kitchen and to have a recipe book that positively encourages me to play with the recipes and quantities to suit my tastes is very refreshing. Susie encourages a relaxed attitude to cooking and therefore this book would be perfect for those people who want to cook something different, but often feel daunted by difficult or complicated methods.I was sent a copy of this book for an honest review.

By Susan Keefe Roll over Delia Smith, here comes the next food goddess.If you’re a normal human who would love to eat good fresh food from around the world which is quick to prepare and packed with flavour, then this is the book for you!No fussy weighing, no rigid rules just delicious meat free recipes (fish and seafood is included). There are plenty of vegan and gluten free recipes, and the author has also taken the time to put notes on the bottom of others as to how they can be adapted.What I loved about this book is that it embrace the wonderfully friendly character of this well-known author, making you feel as if you are sitting in her kitchen and she is telling you about each dish and its origins whilst it is being prepared.Susie Kelly’s memoir’s and travel books have given her fans many insights into her varied life in her own very entertaining way. This new book not only offers a wide range of flavoursome recipes using fresh ingredients, it is also interspersed with interesting stories as we meet the characters who, and situations which have inspired them.This cook book I know will become one of my all-time favourites. I know this because the recipes kept calling to me to try them as I read it. Well, tonight I will try the first one and I am looking forward to having my taste buds awakened to new flavour combinations and ideas.Can’t wait until book two….

This Book Has A Lot Of Useful Information About 3D Printing By Amazon Customer I am an engineer and use 3D printing at work and at home, and learned a lot about 3D printing and designing and optimizing parts for the 3D printing process from this book. I will use what I learned to improve my designs and to get better prints.These areas are especially useful to me:- Part orientation on the print bed to optimize strength.- Ways to divide your model into several pieces to improve strength, surface finish and make it print more reliably.- A formula and good explanation of the relationship between nozzle diameter and wall thickness to ensure thin walls will be filled properly and not unintentionally hollow.- Excellent illustrations on snap fit designs and design factors to consider to make them work properly.- Design guidelines for fastening and joint design with suggested tolerances to use as a starting point.I will definitely reread this book and use it as a reference when designing and printing parts, and when troubleshooting failed prints.

However, the use cases provided were quite basic and considering SAP HANA, I was looking at IoT implementation from enterprise perspective There are couple of use cases available online, I would suggest you read that after getting an introduction. This book is for beginners , but not for experts or architectures looking to build IoT solutions.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Good book by a talented amateur By blue I cannot say much more about this book than the other review, however, I can HIGHLY recommend it. It was by far one of the best books I have ever read pertaining to serial killers and everything in between. The author adds a slight comical touch to his writing which makes it a definite hook book, and gives a broadcrange of topics covered to peak anyone's interest. I have read many books on serial killers and profiling and this tops them all.

Only a half-dozen or so were familiar to me, so this was a very worthwhile read.The featured cases cover a considerable time span and all are interesting. There are a great many errors which you can overlook but for which I must deduct a star.If you're looking for unfamiliar material, I urge you to download this book.

These were sort of broken into chapters, each featuring a different person and some were written better than others. Overall, it was interesting enough that I finished all 4.

The Battle of Jutland: At the end of May 1916, a chance encounter with Admiral Hipper's battlecruisers has enabled Beatty to lead the German Battle Fleet into the jaws of Jellicoe's greatly superior force, but darkness had allowed Admiral Scheer to extricate his ships from a potentially disastrous situation. Though inconclusive, at the Battle of Jutland the German Fleet suffered so much damage that it made no further attempt to challenge the Grand Fleet, and the British blockade remained unbroken. Captain Bennett has used sources previously unavailable to historians in his reconstruction of this controversial battle, including the papers of Vice-Admiral Harper explaining why his official record of the battle was not published until 1927, and the secret "Naval Staff Appreciation" of 1922 whose criticism were so scathing that it was never issued to the Fleet. Also included are numerous battle plans, photographs and an introduction by Bennett's son. 2006 is the 90th anniversary of the battle.

By PrintsMine Glancing through this book when it arrived, I happened upon a comment by the author that it was important to understand the positions of the ships at that certain time. This caused me to look for the expected detailed maps, necessary to understand this complex interplay of over 250 ships in the 4-fleet action.I was (am) disgusted to discover that the publisher allowed this expensive book to be completed and sold WITHOUT A SINGLE MAP or EVEN ONE CRUDE SKETCH !!I closed the book and returned it without reading another word.

Poor effort on Jutland By james seeley I checked a copy of this while in the British Library in London.You are right about the absence of maps-- I've seen at least a dozen other books on Jutland and all have them.The photos were also grey, small and have evidently been scanned from old books instead of coming from photo archives.The text is rather dreary and full of mistakes.The Pen & Sword advertising for this author says he's written many books on naval, maritime and military history. That's true, but they are all third-rate because he just copies other books, and at high speed. He is not a naval specialist, a veteran, or a research historian, but just a cheap copyist.In his latest effort, on the WW2 ship "Tirpitz". he is passing off a collection of photos and a text which mostly don't relate to the title, leaving any readers deceived.I'm one of several buyers and authors who has just cottoned on to this, so do have a look at the many other reviews for Mr Sutherland.He's also written about witches, cooking, farms, fishing, airplanes, politics, leisure, business and chemistry--all in the last 3 years!

By Amazon Customer This book shows the true nature of military conflict, and often times this conflict is very imprecise for its combatants. The british and german fleets one would think, should have had little trouble locating each other, in spite of the poor search techniques used by both sides. Amiral Jellicoe it seems to me did not press his numerical advantage in ships. When it became apparent to Amiral Scheer and Admiral Von Hipper, that they were facing the main british fleet, and not just Admiral beatty and his battlecruiser forces, they ran for home. The germans were not able to destroy the battlecruiser component of the main fleet.Admiral Beatty used a classic ruse to lure Admiral Von Hipper and Admiral Scheer into the hands of the main fleet under Admiral Jellicoe. Nut Admiral Jellicoe failed to close the trap. Faulty intelligence certainly played a role in this misadventure. But all of the naval leaders can accept some of the blame for this naval battle and its outcome. I am very pleased with this book, would recommend it to others who have an interest in this subject.
