By Benjamin Hunt I taught from this book to junior and senior undergraduates over one semester. Of the four books I considered, I found this book to be the best coverage of *contemporary* physics topics and written in a style that physics majors would appreciate. There is a huge amount of information, so it is important to select the subtopics appropriately for the level of the class, but I found that I could design the type of course I really wanted to teach from this book without the need to supplement it with much other material. Example of some special topics in that section of my class: molecular electronics (AFM-controlled break junctions); magnetism (spintronics); photonics (electromagnetic cloaks); nanomechanics (coupled NEMS device and superconducting qubit) - plus tons of stuff in nanofluidics and biology that I didn't even get to. Where else could you get that breadth of information in a single source?

It's aimed at something like a first-year graduate student in physics, so some background is assumed, but there are brief refreshers on useful solid-state concepts. The writing style is clear and concise, helping the reader to develop intuition with respect to what happens as surface effects start to compete with the behavior of a bulk material. The depth of coverage is appropriate for a survey course on nano, and there are plenty of pointers to further reading for anyone who is interested in diving into a particular subject. All in all, this is a well-written book, and I'm sure I will find myself referring to it when I need a reminder about how something works.

Disjointed, full of grammatical and punctuation errors, word salad producing sentences that don't make sense, all conspiring to make these 22 pages difficult to get through. I couldn't erase this crap from my tablet fast enough. Now I will look for a readable book on Mezcal.

I wish this book was required reading for our high school seniors and university students. A clear voice in the crowd explaining exactly what and why this unique country stands alone in the world with a governing philosophy so valiantly defended through the inception of this country to this day. A very thorough discussion, with well documented truths about our constitution and its founding that shouts to the world the hallmark of our country. He debunks much of the public press and elected officials erroneous statements about our governing principles. Do yourself a favor, read this book. Every citizen, student and, particularly, our immigrant citizens should be required to read this book before they acquire citizenship. My favorite quotes are Reuben Blades. "best informed society that has died of ignorance." and 'silence in the face of evil is evil in itself." This little read is so well done. Congratulations, Bill Coate.

Colonel Coate does a masterful job of laying out the simplicity of our past, our current times and our future as it relates to where we go from here. As so many of us have grown increasingly frustrated - nearing hopelessness for the state of our country and the ineffective, increasingly corrupt and self- seeking political system, Bill reminds us that just as those that went before us - we can make a difference. I can sense my hope being renewed and my heart being stirred as I ponder this book.

About the Author I began in the helping profession as a teenager during the middle 1990's. My education in psychology, sexual health, dating, and relationships began in high school in the self-help sections of bookstores, learning from Dr. Ruth, Lou Paget, and David Buss about how people act as they do and why. I graduated from Florida State University in 2003 with an undergraduate degree in Family, Child, & Consumer Sciences with a major in child development and minor in counseling. In 2004, earned a Masters in Clinical Social Work degree from FSU. I earned my doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology in 2014 from Argosy University, studying how America and Japan compare in their preferences for partners for one-night stands and marriage. My early work experiences were in social services, adult mental health, and family therapy. I have been in international education since 2008. I worked teaching and counseling in China and Japan. My first Television appearance was on the Tyra Banks Show in Fall 2006. I began writing advice professionally in 2006 for 944 Magazine. Now I am focusing my efforts to writing sex-help texts and developing a digital platform to give advice.

Dr. Gregory gives comical insight as we progress from first meeting a woman to a weekend trip with her. By Teresa Sitting on the couch dabbing my eyes and some times drawing back sobs as Janice told me her story - that’s how I felt reading this amazing account of a 13-year-old angel, Dawn, diagnosed with cancer.Being a cancer survivor myself and reading this story as if told from the lens of my own mother, I could not turn the pages quickly enough to try to understand how she must have felt.This brave angel’s story will bring strength and hope to all those needing it. I would love to see Finishing Well in hospitals and cancer institutes where cancer patients and their families are searching for courage to get through their journeys.

As tribute to her daughter, yes, but also a gift of comfort & healing & hope to families living a similar experience, to healthcare providers who too often see the loss of a patient as a failure, to those who are struggling to grasp the divine in their own daily lives. To share this story of beauty & grace in the midst of tragedy took much courage & faith. I sit in tears, with a smile of joy on my face knowing her words will help any who read it & am thankful she made the choice to share with us all.

Her story will also illustrate how our youth can leave a legacy way beyond their years. Despite Dawn's pain and terminal illness, she exuded love, laughter, and optimism. Dawn taught us to live our lives each day as if it were our last!
